Parade takes place in June. Chamber approved rules for participation in this Thursday’s meeting

The Marches of the Popular Saints of Viseu return in June. The Chamber approved yesterday (March 14) in an executive meeting the rules for participation in the parade. Registration will be open from April 4th to May 10th.
“Representative groups of schools, associations/collectivities and legally constituted bodies/institutions, based in the municipality of Viseu, may participate in the categories of Children’s, Youth and Senior Marches”, emphasizes the municipality.
Each participating march will receive a participation or attendance prize of 4 thousand euros for the preparation of the march.
The Viseu Chamber also promises to share the costs of competing groups with musical accompaniment.
Marching formations will also be able to compete for several awards, including Best Choreography/Interpretation and Best Costume.
Last year, the marches were won by Jardim-Escola João de Deus (children), the Junta de Freguesia do Campo (youth) and the Associação Folclórica, Cultural e Recreativa Verde Gaio de Lordosa (seniors).
