The young man suspected of stabbing a couple after a fight, in a nightclub in Barcelos, was in preventive detention, charged with two crimes of qualified homicide, both attempted, as determined by the Guimarães criminal investigation judge.
As O MINHO reported, the Judicial Police of Braga detained a 21-year-old young man, suspected of committing two crimes of attempted murder, committed in the vicinity of a nightclub located in the municipality of Barcelos.
The case occurred in the early hours of November 4, 2023, following two groups getting involved in a heated argument inside a nightlife space, the disco, with everyone being expelled by the establishment’s security.
On the public road, close to the nightclub, the groups in confrontation continued their discussion, ending up attacking each other. The suspect, belonging to one of the groups, with a knife, attacked a man and a woman from the rival group.
The victims are a 20-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, the first of whom was even more seriously injured, with a puncture wound to the torso, but their lives were put in danger, especially in the case of the young man.
The members of the opposing groups are linked, respectively, to environments associated with marginality, in Famalicão and Porto, and are now continuing with criminal investigations under the responsibility of the Homicide Brigade of the Judicial Police of Braga.
