Rui Rocha, in an interview on CMTV’s Grande Jornal, states that the party intends to “transform the country into a more liberal country”. “Our expectation is to be present in Parliament”, says Rui Rocha.

The IL leader states that he understands the elections as a desire for change. The IL does not exclude the possibility of participating in a discussion with a winning coalition to be part of the Government, but “the AD and the IL combined will not have more strength than the left combined.” “We wanted to have a stronger summation,” he says.

Rui Rocha emphasizes that he is not resigning and reinforces the idea that he has “all the energy to continue defending a liberal vision for the country”.

“How is it possible for someone to announce a motion of censure” before there is a Government?, he asks.

Regarding the migration of votes from IL to Chega, Rui Rocha responds: “I have no evidence of that”.

The IL leader reinforced that if there is a new State Budget proposal, it will be evaluated responsibly and if “it aims to alleviate the burden of taxes on the pockets of the Portuguese”, the party will approve it.
