Mário Relvas, a resident of the place and who has been an intervening voice over the last few months for the requalification of the street, told O MINHO that he was in contact with the president of the Junta de São Victor, where the avenue is located, and also with the Chamber’s executive, expressing satisfaction with the announcement of a date for the works.
The man complained that the City Council did nothing to “fill the holes” that quickly became degraded with the rain, driving residents to despair.
As O MINHO reported on Friday, the municipality of Braga begins, on the 25th, to repair the municipality’s roads with the start of work on Avenida Antero de Quental, and the blocks in the area surrounding the Braga Parque shopping center, an investment of 780 thousand euros. And three other projects begin in April, costing another 1.4 million.

And the mayors of the parishes of Santa Lucrécia de Algeriz, Navarra, Crespos and Pousada went public to ask for works, saying that the poor condition of Municipal Road (EM) 591 “puts into question this access used by hundreds of people”.
TO MINHO, councilor Olga Pereira, who heads Public Works, said that the Antero de Quental contract includes the requalification of the residential blocks of Quinta dos Congregados, in the parish of São Vítor, a contract with an execution period of 120 days, and that it involves Rua Fernando Oliveira Guimarães, Rua Luís Soares Barbosa to the north, Rua Dr. Aníbal Araújo Esmoriz.
He revealed that, in April, three others will be started, the EM 562, which crosses the parish of Tadim – 620 thousand euros -, the Praceta Luís Almeida, in São Vítor, which costs 65 thousand, and the EM 565 between Adaúfe and Navarra , a work costing 750 thousand euros.
