Until tomorrow, Espaço Vita will host the district session of the “Youth Parliament”, in an initiative that involves 56 schools and 250 students from the district of Braga, with the theme “Viver Abril: paths to a plural and participatory school”.
This initiative, organized by the Municipality of Braga, in partnership with the Assembly of the Republic and the General Directorate of School Establishments (DGEstE), is aimed at students in the 2nd and 3rd cycles of basic education and public and private secondary education and cooperative of the Continent, the Autonomous Regions and circles in Europe and Outside Europe.
The opening session took place this Monday and was attended by the Education councilor of the Braga City Council, Carla Sepúlveda, the president of the Braga Municipal Assembly, Hortense Santos, and Palmira Maciel, deputy of the Assembly of the Republic.
The program’s main objectives are to promote citizenship education, awaken young people’s interest in civic and political participation, trigger the ability to argue in defense of ideas with respect for the values of tolerance and enhance critical thinking.
