Last Saturday, the Municipality of Condeixa-a-Nova presented the program for the celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of the 25th of April 1974. The event aims to involve the entire population with an eclectic program, including lectures, debates, exhibitions, concerts and releases of books.

The celebrations, already underway, stand out for their inclusion of all age groups, with initiatives that include the participation of schools, Parish Councils and the associative movement. The president of the City Council, Nuno Moita, highlighted the importance of reaching the entire community and promised surprises throughout the program.

Organized by the Popular Celebrations Promotion Committee, the event receives financial support from the municipality and is scheduled to accelerate as April approaches. Highlights include initiatives such as the “Tell Me How It Was” event for families, book launches, exhibitions, the 25th of April parade and a “Revolution Menu” in local restaurants.

In addition, figures such as Mário Soares will be honored and concerts, lectures and exhibitions are planned throughout the year. Community participation is essential and several local entities are involved in the organization, promoting an environment of memory, reflection and celebration of the freedom achieved.
