The 56th. edition of AGRO – International Agriculture, Livestock and Food Fair, which takes place between tomorrow, Thursday, and Sunday, at Altice Forum Braga, expects to receive around 50 thousand people. The event occupies a total area of ​​25 thousand square meters, with 220 exhibitors, 500 animals and 450 agricultural machines. In addition to the usual livestock competitions and showcookings, there is also a parallel program with activities such as workshops, seminars and conferences that will serve to debate the sector.

“This year we invested heavily in the first two days, with the presence of students from schools across the region, giving these young people the opportunity to get in touch with animals and the agricultural world”, Carlos Silva, administrator of the municipal company, explained to JN InvestBraga, which organizes the event.

The “massive presence” of young people will also make it possible to complement the weekend, which “are usually very strong days in terms of turnout”. “With the good weather helping, as the weather forecasts indicate, we believe we can exceed 50 thousand visitors over the four days”, highlighted the person in charge.

In an event that maintains the usual format, although every year there are “improvements to be implemented”, Carlos Silva highlights the installation of a riding arena as the main novelty of the 56th. AGRO. “The entire public will have the opportunity to try driving a horse and get to know these animals up close”, highlighted the administrator of InvestBraga.

The event will also have a food hall, with olive oils, chocolates, jams, sweets, preserves, cheeses, regional products, traditional smoked meats and wines, in addition to the catering area, with DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) meat restaurants and dozens of taverns.

Tomorrow and Friday, AGRO is open between 10 am and 11 pm. On Saturday, opening hours extend until midnight and on Sunday it closes at 8pm. Tickets cost 3.50 euros for over 13s.
