Bárbara Norton de Matos has been away from acting for two years and has no plans to return…

In an interview with the magazine Lives this week, the actress doesn’t know the reason for not having any invitations: “Look, I actually don’t really know how to answer that. I think it’s cyclical, it has nothing to do with anything personal. It was a bit difficult to stop thinking about it as a personal thing and at first I was super hurt. Today it has passed me by. And I see it like this: I was very lucky in 23 years to have written 19 soap operas”.

Bárbara Norton de Matos overcame her heartache with therapy: “I went to therapy and it helped me a lot to find myself. I think that with so many characters I played, I got lost in the middle and didn’t have time to do a lot of personal development to understand who I am, what I like. Because I’ve always been closer to the characters than myself”.

But it was very important to have time for myself, to live for myself, and to have a lot of time to think. Before, I barely had time to think, I just had to act, because I worked a lot, a lot of hours. And this construction, this personal development, was very good. It was very important as a mother and a woman. Right now, I feel much safer and much more certain of what I don’t want, at least”, he explained.
