MUSIC (Region) – Ponte D’Lima Festival distinguished with two awards and already has more new names for 2024

The Ponte D’Lima Festival was awarded two awards. The event was awarded at the Iberian Festival Awards, on March 15, in Granada.

The Ponte D’Lima Festival has just been honored with two awards in the most recent edition of the Iberian Festival Awards, on March 15th, in Granada.

Named among several Iberian festivals, the Ponte D’Lima Festival received the awards for Best Hosting & Reception and Best Festival Photo with an image by photographer Mariana Silva.

The Best Hosting & Reception award honors the commitment that the event organizers made by developing a festival that, in the same space, allows you to attend a variety of concerts but also live the experience of the land of Ponte de Lima, respecting and honoring the local territory and heritage.

POSTER NAMES

For the 2nd edition of the Ponte D’Lima Festival, the focus on promoting Portuguese music is once again reinforced. Ana Lua Caiano, Conjunto Corona, Gator, The Alligator and Glockenwise join the poster.

Ana Lua Caiano explores musical fusion, combining traditional Portuguese music with electronic music.

She creates melodies that refer to tradition, making use of choirs, harmonies and canons, in a union with synthesizers, beat machines and sounds taken from everyday life, performing in a “one woman show” format. Considered a “revelation artist” with her two EPs “Cheguei Late a Yesterday” and “Se Dança é Só Pós”, presented live on several dozen national and international stages, she presents her first full-length “Vou FicanteEste Quadro” and take him to Ponte de Lima this summer.

All Conjunto Corona albums have an associated narrative that corresponds to a chapter in the life of a fictional persona created by the band: “Corona”.

The narrative began with “Lo Fi Hipster Sheat” and “Lo Fi Hipster Trip”, followed by the albums “Cimo de Vila Velvet Cantina”, “Santa Rita Lifestyle” and “G de Gandim” and continues in “ESTILVS MISTICVS”, the latest album, released in 2023.

Gator, The Alligator return to the stage to bring a journey through their trilogy of albums. Gator’s adventures bridge the gap between albums and stories that they have been creating since 2017.

Portuguese Gothic is, if not a return, an appreciative look at the margins and an album that has been widely distinguished and praised by critics. Considered one of the most anticipated moments at the Ponte D’Lima Festival.

In its 2nd edition, the Ponte D’Lima Festival presents an “eclectic” lineup, in a perfect balance between roots music, electronic music, rap, kuduro and rock that brings great national and international references to Ponte de Lima but also some of the names that have marked new trends in music”, explains the organization.

“All of this in total harmony with nature and the surrounding space, which allows you to enjoy unique natural landscapes, provided by the Lima River”, he concludes.
