Francisco Sottomayor, CEO of Norfin, has just been elected President of APR – Portuguese Association of Residential Tourism and Resorts.

With around 20 years of experience in the real estate sector, Francisco Sottomayor was responsible for Asset Management at Parque EXPO, the company responsible for the design and implementation of the largest integrated urban regeneration project in Lisbon, today known as Parque das Nações. He worked for 10 years at CBRE Portugal, where he was a member of the Executive Committee and responsible for developing the Development business. He was also Director of real estate business at Caixa Geral de Depósitos. He has a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Journalism from the Portuguese Institute of Higher Studies, having attended the Advanced Management Program for Executives at Católica Lisbon Business & Economics and is certified in Project Management from the Project Management Institute.

The Portuguese Association of Residential Tourism and Resorts was formally established in 2011. Currently, 32 companies are members of APR, corresponding to a hundred tourist-residential real estate projects. The association is dedicated to the international promotion of Portuguese residential tourism, and to representing the interests of its members before the guardianship, Government and other relevant institutions.
