The parish of Santa Maria dos Anjos and the Municipality of Ponte de Lima jointly promote the Florida Chapels Route, from March 28th to 30th, as part of the Holy Week celebrations, which last from March 9th to April 7th.
The Municipality noted that “during the days that form the Easter Triduum, between Holy Thursday and Holy Saturday, a dozen temples located in the Historic Center of Ponte de Lima will be open to the public”.
A tour of these churches and chapels, some of which “are only accessible very rarely, will undoubtedly be an excellent opportunity to make known the rich religious and artistic heritage that these temples contain”.
On March 28th, Thursday, visits can be made from 6pm to 11pm, on March 29th, Friday, from 3pm to 11pm, and on March 30th, Saturday, from 3pm to 8pm.
This route includes the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Guia, the Church of the Third Order of São Francisco, the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Penha de França, the Church of Misericórdia, the Parish Church, the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Lapa, the Capela das Pereiras, the Chapel of the House of Nossa Senhora da Aurora, the Chapel of São João and the Church of Santo António da Torre Velha.
