The Braga Territorial Command, in addition to its daily operational activity, carried out a set of operations in the district of Braga, in the week of March 18th to 24th, which aimed not only at preventing and combating crime and to road accidents, as well as the inspection of various administrative offense matters, recording the following operational data:
1. Arrests: 33 detained in flagrante delicto, highlighting:
• 14 for driving under the influence of alcohol;
• 11 for theft;
• Three for domestic violence;
• Two for driving without a legal license.
2. Traffic:
Inspection: 278 infractions detected, highlighting:
· 118 for speeding;
· 43 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection;
· 20 for driving with a blood alcohol level higher than that permitted by law;
· 16 due to lack of civil liability insurance;
· 13 for being overweight;
· Ten for improper use of a cell phone while driving;
· Ten due to lack of or incorrect use of a seat belt and/or child restraint system;
· Five related to tachographs.
Accident rate: 129 accidents recorded, resulting in:
• One fatal victim;
• Five seriously injured;
• 48 minor injuries.
3. General inspection: 89 administrative offense reports, highlighting:
• 53 within the scope of police legislation;
• 28 within the scope of nature and environmental protection legislation;
• Eight in the context of the consumption of narcotic products.
