The newly created Professional Academy of the Municipality of Albufeira will offer several courses for specialized technicians from April onwards, with the aim of filling the lack of labor in the construction sector, the municipality announced today.

The municipality informs in a statement that, in partnership with the Institute of Welding and Quality (ISQ), courses will be offered in plumbing technicians, electricity, air conditioning, painting in civil construction, swimming pool maintenance and carpentry.

The Municipality of Albufeira reimburses 80% of course registration, which will result in a registration cost of 100 euros, according to the note.

The actions will be carried out after work, at the municipal shipyards of Vale Pedras, from Monday to Friday, from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm and on Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, lasting three months.

According to the mayor of Albufeira, José Carlos Martins Rolo, cited in the statement, the courses will allow “combating the lack of qualified labor in professions linked to the construction sector, as well as qualifying and valuing the trainees who participate in these actions.”
