The Municipal Council of Salvaterra de Magos recently started the project “(Re)Encontros com Histórias”, whose objective is to provide varied activities on a monthly basis to the elderly in the municipality’s Private Social Solidarity Institutions (IPSS’s).
Activities are planned, such as poetry, music, dance, sport and socializing, thus contributing to increasing the self-confidence and self-esteem of the elderly, while also aiming to promote their physical, emotional and social well-being ”.
The first activity took place on March 21st, World Poetry Day, at Espaço Jackson, in Glória do Ribatejo, with the presentation of the book “Bairro da Poesia”, with Hugo Sampaio, and also included the recitation of poems by of users of the municipality’s IPSS’s.
