Today is the day of the Vizela Donors’ Birthday Gala
The Vizela Blood Donors Association (ADSV) completed 31 years of existence on Wednesday, the 24th. The celebrations have two initiatives and the first of them was reserved, precisely, for the anniversary day. Remember that on that day a mobile station was parked in Praça da República so that interested parties could donate blood.
This Saturday, the 27th, at 3:30 pm, at the Francisco Ferreira Municipal Auditorium, the Anniversary Gala will be held with the aim of recognizing the donors who have already made 50 donations, awarding them the respective award. This year there are around 20 donors who will receive this distinction, although not all of them will be able to be present on the day of the Gala.
The ADSV Anniversary Gala will also be marked by the posthumous tribute to Ofélia Alves, who for many years worked at the Portuguese Institute of Blood and Transplantation. “She was a very dear person, who always cared for us, gave a lot of herself so that our association could also reach these levels that we have reached, we owe a lot to her, we learned a lot from her and that is why we are going to pay her this tribute”, he stated José Manuel Guimarães, speaking to Rádio Vizela. Throughout the ceremony there will also be some musical notes, by Maria Damasceno.
