Caminha: Rua Alfredo Cruz in Seixas the target of an intervention | Newspaper C

Caminha City Council is carrying out the project “Rehabilitation of the southern section of Rua Alfredo Cruz, in Seixas, and the section on Rua do Socorro, in Venade”, an investment worth around 70 thousand euros. Paying attention to the progress of the works taking place in the municipality, in Seixas, the aforementioned project is expected to be completed by the end of April.

It is worth remembering that this street was one of those affected by the bad weather on January 1, 2023. This intervention thus solves yet another problem caused by the storm that devastated the territory of Caminha. The contract was awarded for €68,300.00 + VAT and is 60% financed by the Portuguese State (€43,438.80).

The work on the section of Rua Alfredo Cruz, in Seixas, consists of unblocking the existing water line beneath it, and creating a new wall to support the parking lot adjacent to the water line, which was in danger of collapsing. Subsequently, this section of road will be repaved in bituminous, as the previous one was literally ripped out and swept away by the waters that overtopped the road line.
