The traditional visit to the Churches and Chapels of Viana do Castelo takes place this Thursday.

This year, 23 churches and chapels in the city are part of this religious itinerary, which will be open for visits and prayers between 8 pm and midnight.

Thus, the following will be open for prayer: Sé Cathedral, Igreja da Misericórdia, Chapel of N.ª Sr.ª do Resgate (Rua da Bandeira), Church of N.ª Sr.ª da Caridade, Chapel of Casa da Carreira (City Hall) , Capela das Almas, Church of the Seminário do Carmo, Parish Church of N.ª Sr.ª de Fátima, Church of the Sagrada Família, Chapel of N.ª Sr.ª d’Agonia, Chapel of S. Roque (next to Sr. .ª d’Agonia), Carmel Chapel of St.ª Teresinha, Chapel of the Diocesan Seminary, Chapel of Our Lady of Candeias (Largo Vasco da Gama), Chapel of Santa Catarina, Parish Church of Monserrate (Church of São Domingos), Chapel of the Lord of Calvário / Chapel of N.ª Sr.ª da Conceição da Rocha (next to Sr.ª d’Agonia), Sanctuary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus-Santa Luzia, Hospital Chapel, Church of São Bento, Chapel of São Francisco de Paula (Capela das Malheiras), Chapel of the Museum of Decorative Arts (Largo de S. Domingos) and Capela do Navio Gil Eannes.

This evening, the Santa Luzia elevator will be free to access, with trips available between 7:30 pm and 12:15 am.

An interactive map is also available this Easter period that will allow residents, visitors and tourists to travel along the Religious Route, accompanied by a GPS locator, audio guide and photographs of the 23 chapels and churches.
