The Leiria Territorial Command, through the Criminal Investigation Center (NIC) of Pombal, arrested a 22-year-old individual, on suspicion of involvement in drug trafficking, on March 20, in the municipality of Pombal.
The action occurred as part of an investigation that lasted approximately six months, which aims to dismantle drug trafficking networks in the region. After meticulous police investigations, Guard agents carried out a home search warrant, which resulted in the seizure of a significant amount of material related to illicit trafficking.
The seized material includes 216 doses of hashish, in addition to 260 euros in cash, two cell phones, a digital scale and other artifacts used in the preparation and distribution of individual doses of drugs.
The suspect, already with a criminal record related to similar activities, appeared before the Leiria Judicial Court on March 21st. After the hearing, the coercive measure of preventive detention was determined, as a way of guaranteeing the continuity of the judicial process and preventing possible recurrences.
