Póvoa de Varzim will soon receive thousands of people who will follow the procession of the “Dead Lord”. The procession leaves the Main Church at 10pm, right after the Burial Sermon scheduled for half past nine. At this time, the Rehearsal Choir, Capela Marta, Santa Maria da Estela Choir Group and São Pedro de Rates Parish Group will participate.

This is one of the highlights of Holy Week, which in the afternoon will see the Celebration of the Lord’s Passion, with the Liturgy of the Word and Adoration of the Holy Cross, in the city’s three parishes: at 3 pm in Matriz and Lapa, at 5 pm in S. José de Ribamar.

In Vila do Conde, the Celebration of the Passion of the Lord will be at 3pm at the Church of Santa Clara, a place that will host the show “Evangelho da Paixão” at 9:30 pm.

In Famalicão, the Celebration of the Lord’s Passion is at 2:45 pm at the Igreja Matriz Nova. At 8:30 pm, the trial and condemnation of Jesus is recreated, in Praça 9 de Abril, and an hour later the procession of the Lord’s burial takes to the streets. The procession leaves the Old Main Church.

In Esposende, the Solemn Celebration of the Lord’s Passion is at the Main Church, starting at 3:30 pm. The burial procession of the Lord is at 9:30 pm and leaves from the Misericórdia Church. Continue to the Main Church, where the funeral sermon will take place, continuing through the streets of the city, accompanied by the Belinho Music Band.

Finally in Barcelos, tonight, there is an Easter concert by Grupo Coral Magistrói, at the Temple of Senhor Bom Jesus da Cruz. It starts at 9pm and has free entry.
