compared to 2022. On the sections of the A24, the district was crossed by an average of 5,953 cars, an increase of 11.47%.

According to data from the Mobility and Transport Institute (IMT), August was the month in which there was the most traffic on both roads. On the A24, the most heavily traveled section of the district was Armamar-Lamego, with an average daily circulation of 12,917 vehicles during this period.

On the A25, the highest traffic in the region was on the Talhadas (municipality of Sever do Vouga)-Reigoso (municipality of Oliveira de Frades) section with 24,337 vehicles in August.

On the other hand, January was the month with the least car traffic on the region’s highways. The EN231-EN2 section of the A25, in Viseu, had the lowest traffic record with 6,128 vehicles. On the A24, Bigorne-Castro Daire Norte was crossed by 3,275 cars that month.

On the A24, the district of Viseu comprises the sections Régua-Armamar to Viseu-Faíl and, on the A25, the routes Talhadas-Reigoso to Chãs de Tavares-Fornos de Algodres.

Last year, the Beiras Litoral and Alta concession on the A25 had an average daily circulation of 11,485 vehicles, while the Interior Norte concession on the A24 registered 5,953.

At a national level, in 2023 and according to the IMT, average traffic on national motorways increased by 8.2% compared to the last traffic levels, registering 21,871 vehicles per day on each Portuguese motorway, more than in 2022 (20,211 ) and 2019 (19,810).
