The most modern health center in the region opens today for 30 thousand people

The opening, today, of the new Fernão Magalhães Health Center, in Coimbra – operating in a modular building, built from scratch in a prime area of ​​the city – represents a giant step forward in the conditions for providing healthcare.
It will serve a population of around 30 thousand people in the central/northern area of ​​the city, which has been waiting for three decades for new facilities, now built around 100 meters from the dilapidated building that housed this health center until Thursday. last.
This is a facility that is part of the Local Health Unit (ULS) of Coimbra, led by Alexandre Lourenço, which registers “new life for the Health Center (CS) of Fernão de Magalhães which, with the move to the new facilities, you will have more and better conditions to provide excellent healthcare to your patients.”
The facilities, with state-of-the-art equipment, are a contribution to “the valorization of primary health care, appropriate in the right place and time”.
