According to ACAP, in “March 2024, 26,240 motor vehicles were registered in Portugal, that is, 6.7% more than in the same month of 2023”.

In March 2024, the automobile market registered a growth of 6.7% compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the Automobile Association of Portugal (ACAP).

In the third month of the year “26,240 motor vehicles were registered in Portugal, that is, 6.7% more than in the same month of 2023”, he explains in a note sent to the press.

“From January to March 2024, 68,520 new vehicles were put into circulation, which represented an increase of 13.1% compared to the same period of the previous year”, informed the association.

With regard to passenger cars, 22,796 new cars were registered, that is, 6.2% more than in the same month last year.

“From January to March 2024, registrations of light passenger vehicles totaled 59,044 units, which translated into a positive variation of 13.1% compared to the same period in 2023”.

Regarding light goods vehicles, there was “a positive evolution of 17.0% compared to the same month of the previous year, standing at 2,843 registered units”.

As for the heavy vehicle market, which encompasses the types of passengers and goods, “there was a drop of 12.8% compared to the same month of 2023, with 601 vehicles in this category being sold”.
