Between the 12th and 14th of April, aspiring Geoparque Oeste and the Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo do Oeste, promote a certified course dedicated to wines and their geodiversity.

Entitled “The Geodiversity of Wine”, this training takes place in several locations in the west of the district of Leiria and the Saloia area of ​​Lisbon, revealing the geology, soils and landscapes of Geoparque Oeste, the hierarchy of terroirs in the Lisbon Region and allowing us to understand how the vineyard contributes to the appreciation of the territory.

Concepts relating to Geotourism, Wine Tourism and Liquor Tourism will also be covered.

April 12th
6:00 pm – Reception, visit to Quinta do Sanguinhal with wine tasting
8:00 pm – Dinner at Quinta do Sanguinhal
9:45 pm – Lecture on Enology (winemaker Miguel Móteo) and Wine Tourism (Ana Reis), Quinta do Sanguinhal

April 13th
08:30 – Reception of participants
09:00 – Opening at Geopark Oeste – Escola Secundária Fernão Pó/CIGO
09:15 – Lectures:
“From Geology to the lands and landscapes of the aspiring Geopark Oeste”
“Hierarchy of terroirs in the Lisbon Region and valorization of the territory”
Geodocumentary about wine and vineyards in the aspiring Geoparque Oeste
11h00 – Visit to INIAV – Dois Portos Center (Torres Vedras) – National Ampelographic collection
12:20 pm – Lunch at Quinta do Pateo
2:20 pm – Visit to Quinta da Almiara (Torres Vedras) tour of the vineyards and visit to the winery accompanied by the farm’s winemaker
4:20 pm – Visit to VITIOESTE (Production of bacelli)
6:15 pm – Visit to Vila das Rainhas/Frutóbidos
7:15 pm – Dinner at Adega da Arrocha, with wine tasting commented by a winemaker and history of the Aguardente DOC da Lourinhã fraternity
9:30 pm – Return to the Hotel

April 14th
09:00 – Departure from Bombarral
09:30 am – Geological and wine-growing landscapes of the Montejunto region
10:45 am – Visit to the Royal Ice Factory
11:45 am – Geological and wine-growing landscapes of the Montejunto region
1:00 pm – Lunch at Quinta do Castro (Pragança)
3:00 pm – Visit to Quinta do Convento
5:00 pm – Return to the Hotel
