The Cineclube da Guarda will show this Tuesday (9:30 pm) at the Teatro Municipal da Guarda (TMG) a poetic documentary about the visibility and invisibility of women in historical processes, both during the dictatorship of 1926-1974, and in the revolutionary process of 1974-1975.

Titled “They were also there”, the film was written by Joana Craveiro, and according to TMG, it brings to life “the invisible stories of a series of women who were there, combining testimonies, photographs and other documents”. The documentary is «based on the theatrical show of the same name, used by censorship during the dictatorship» and is part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April in Guarda.

They were there too” marked Joana Craveiro’s debut as a director and was awarded the Special Jury Prize at the 2021 Olhares do Mediterranean Festival.
