The administrator of Sevenair, a competitor excluded from the Porto Santo/Madeira air connection contest, accused a member of the jury, chosen by the Regional Government, of partiality and obstacle, notes “Juntos pelo Povo”.

“There is a member of the jury appointed by the Regional Government of Madeira who, before the competition, even knowing the proposals, told the other members of the jury that he had instructions that Binter had to win”, said Carlos Amaro, from Sevenair, yesterday, to Antenna 1.

In light of these statements, the Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP) party announces that it will request the hearing of those responsible for Sevenair and the member of the jury, in the air connection competition, appointed by the Regional Government.

The administrator guaranteed that he would win the tender if there was no deliberate intention to hand over the operation to the Spanish competitor, as it had twice the score of the other company. “We have six times more frequencies,” he said.

The exclusion led to a challenge in court and the postponement of the conclusion of the contract. The solution has been the successive extension of the deadline – six times since 2022, with serious harm to the lives of people and companies in Porto Santo.

The JPP considers that this imbroglio is a very serious problem and that this is the time to find a definitive solution.
