CULTURE – Vila Verde brings together 200 children and young people at the Children’s and Youth Theater Festival

Around 200 children and young people will participate, next Saturday, in Vila Verde, in the FIT – Children’s and Youth Theater Festival. Several plays will be performed throughout the day, in the auditorium of the Amar Terra Verde Professional School (EPATV).

More than a dozen children from kindergartens and primary schools in the municipality will take to the stage, as well as groups of young actors from Braga, Ponte da Barca, Póvoa de Varzim and also the Galician municipality of Rianxo .

The initiative, scheduled to start at 10am on Saturday, is organized by Projeto Expressar, with the support of the municipality of Vila Verde and the involvement of several parish councils, associations, schools and other institutions.

Plays such as The Six Little Pigs in Rhyme, Snow White and the Dwarfs, In Search of Lost Sleep, The King Goes Naked, The King’s New Clothes, The Chocolate House, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Once Upon a Country will be performed. , Who stole the brigadeiros, Now I’m the one speaking, The princess and the salt, The kidnapping at the toy factory and also The Auto da barca do inferno.

On stage will be groups from kindergartens from Turiz, Oriz, Sabariz, Esqueiros, Barbudo and Centro Escolar de Vila Verde. The cast also includes theater groups from ATL da Casa do Povo de Vila Verde, EB1 Monsenhor Elísio Araújo and the school centers of Prado and Soutelo.

The vast number of actors also come from theater groups from the parish councils of Vila Verde and Barbudo and Prado, the Projeto Expressar Workshops, as well as the Teatro da Varazim – Tura Mini (Póvoa do Varzim), the Theater Group of S . Victor (Braga) and the group from the Airiños Theater School (from the Galician municipality of Rianxo).

Projeto Expressar is a cultural association for the production and promotion of artistic and educational projects centered on theater, aiming to provide children and young people with access to cultural participation.

Since its creation, in 2003, it has been creating several pedagogical projects, artistic productions and cultural events, with public and private entities, such as FIT – Vila Verde Children’s and Youth Theater Festival.

Together with the Municipality of Vila Verde, entities such as the Office for Children and Families (GIF), the Amar Terra Verde Professional School, the Vila Verde and Prado School Groups, the Casa do Povo of Vila Verde and the parish councils of Vila Verde and Barbudo, Vila de Prado, Soutelo, Oriz and UF Esqueiros, Nevogilde and Travassós, as well as the municipality of S. Victor (Braga).
