The Lisbon Bar Show program is already known

The program for the ninth edition of the Lisbon Bar Show, a Cocktail Fair that takes place every year, is already known. The event will take place at Altice Arena, on May 14th and 15th, 2024.

The Lisbon Bar Show is returning to the Altice Arena, on the 14th and 15th of May, and will feature the presence of 35 confirmed international speakers, as well as the finalists of the Lisbon Bar Show Awards, among other moments. The official presentation was in March and was attended by the Ambassador of Peru in Portugal, Carlos Gil de Montes, and Tom Dyer, one of the best flair bartenders in the world.

This event promotes, in Lisbon, a Cocktail Fair, with this year’s novelty being the presence of a non-alcoholic drinks bar, with several brands present, and where different independent bartenders will be present. There will also be around 35 speakers at this fair. Many of them will be in Portugal for the first time, and come from the four corners of the world to perform never before seen in our country. Some of them are Aaron Diaz, Anxo Vila, David Blom, Demie Kim Tom Dyer, Mónica Berg, among others. There will also be Portuguese professionals, such as Ana Camacho, Chef Kiko, Duarte Coelho, among others.

18 finalists from the Lisbon district in the Lisbon Bar Show awards

The Lisbon Bar Show 2024 awards have 18 finalists from the Lisbon district. Therefore, the finalist in the Best Hotel Bar category is Rossio Gastrobar, located at the Hotel Altis Avenida. In the Best Restaurant Bar category, candidates for nominations are JNcQUOI Avenida, JNcQUOI Asia and Bistro 100 Maneiras. The Best Bar Team category has two nominees: Imprensa Cocktail and Oyster Bar and Nexo ½ Bar. There are four establishments nominated in the Best Bar category: Imprensa Cocktail and Oyster Bar; Monkey Mash; Red Frog Speakeasy and Quattro Teste.

Catarina Correia, from Nexo 1/2 Bar, Constância Cordeiro, from Uni/Toca da Raposa, Flavia Menezes, from Café Klandestin, Flavi Andrade, from Rossio Gastrobar and Lara Thellier, from Red Frog Speakeasy are the finalists representing the Portuguese capital in the Best Barmaid category. On the other hand, the Portuguese capital also has three nominees in the Best Bartender category, namely Diogo Lopes, from Nexo 1/2 Bar, João Sancheira, from Bistro 100 Maneiras/Carnal and Paulo Gomes, from Red Frog/Monkey Mash. In the Best Bar Menu category, the following establishments were nominated: Red Frog Speakeasy, Monkey Mash, Quattro Teste and Nexo 1/2 Bar.

Peru is the guest country of this initiative

The Lisbon Bar Show is considered the biggest hospitality, restaurant and hotel event in Portugal. In this ninth edition, the guest country will be Peru, which will promote trends in the area of ​​bartending and cocktails. Likewise, on both days of the event, Peruvian drinks will be served and chefs will be present who will share typical Peruvian cuisine products. According to the Ambassador of Peru in Portugal, Carlos Gil de Montes, “it is an honor to have Peru as a guest country at this event. At the embassy, ​​we carry out many activities in Portugal and within the culture it is important that our product is present at events like this”.

“We will take advantage of the fact that we are present at the Lisbon Bar Show to showcase Peruvian drinks, namely our purple whiskey (Don Michael).” In the same presentation, the finalists for the Lisbon Bar Show 2024 Awards were also presented. This award is presented in 11 categories. Some of the winners are João Eusébio, Niche Secret Garden (Spain); Ana Camacho, Paradiso (Spain); Truffle Gin (Cambridge) or Patron El-Cielo + Tequila. Other finalists are Louis XIII, Remy Martin; or the establishments Mare Restaurante & Gin Bar, in Praia da Vagueira; Casa do Gadanha, in Estremoz; JNcQUOI Avenida, in Lisbon, among others.

The Lisbon Bar Show takes place on May 14th and 15th, at Altice Arena. The official opening will be at 12 noon. The program will also include the 2nd Iberian Bartenders Congress, a space for networking and exchanging experiences in the sector.

Tickets are now on sale

This initiative also promotes initiatives such as the Vintage Cocktail Competition, a cocktail competition where classic drinks have a vintage style, or the Mojito Forum. This is a space where professionals can watch presentations and exchange ideas about the best experts in the industry. Likewise, there will also be a Brands Room, that is, a presentation room where the brands represented at the fair have the opportunity to carry out specific demonstrations, Masterclasses and Workshops.

The initiative is dedicated to professionals in the sector, but is open to the general public. Tickets are now on sale and cost €29, on pre-sale until May 10th. If you buy a ticket on event days, the ticket will cost 10 euros more.
