In collaboration between the Municipality of Tavira and local craft associations – ASTA, Albacora and
Almadrava – another edition of the Spring Exhibition will take place in Tavira, from the 25th to the 28th of April, with the participation of around 100 exhibitors, distributed across various spaces in the city centre.
With a diverse program, which includes crafts, sweets, music, theater, workshops, gastronomic demonstrations and exhibitions, four days of many activities are guaranteed.
To mark the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April, Mercado da Ribeira will host, at 9:30 pm, concerts by great Portuguese voices, such as AGIR – Canta Abril, on the 25th, Boémia with their album “Génese”, on on the 26th, and the fado singer Diamantina with her work “Tell me how it was”, on the 27th.
On the 28th, to close the event, Marenostrum from Tavira invites the Banda Musical de Tavira to a concert commemorating their “30 Years – Canções do Mar e Serra”.
For the youngest there will be traveling entertainment, gardening workshops, paper making and plastic expression, by the Associação Semente de Alfarroba, traditional toys, at the Museu do Brincar, and the exhibition “Memórias do Brincar”, at Jardim das Palmeiras.
There is also a presence, in the same place, at the D. Roberto theater, with shows by Companhias SA Marionetas, Valdevinos Teatro de Marionetas and Teatro Joaquim, by Luís Manhita from the Algarve.
In order to value and make known the intangible cultural heritage of the municipality, the program pays special attention to ethnography, with performances by the Folklore Ranches of Santo Estêvão and Tavira, Grupo de Cantares de Cachopo “Searas de Outono”, Projeto Lado a Lado , Pérolas do Gilão, and the Alentejo singing of the Grupo Coral da Casa do Povo de Reguengos de Monsaraz, in the space of the old Lota.
On the morning of Saturday, April 27th, there will be a Gastronomic Demonstration, at the Municipal Market, with Chefs Rui Cristino, Sara Nunes and Vasco Martins, and in the afternoon, a wine tasting at the Tavira Municipal Museum – Palácio da Galeria.
There are plenty of reasons to visit Tavira between April 25th and 28th.
