Discovering flavors in Mondim de Basto A dinner at Adega 7 Condes

Recently, we had the opportunity to have dinner at the Adega 7 Condes restaurant, a place full of history in the center of the village of Mondim de Basto. This restaurant has walls that tell stories dating back 150 years and a very welcoming atmosphere.

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with a smile and we started our meal with some delicious starters: olives, bread and roasted chorizo that was divine. Then came the hot and crispy fritters that made us even more excited for the main dishes.

We chose to share two dishes: the cod with cornbread and the Maronesa steak. The cod was juicy and well balanced in salt, accompanied by very tasty punched potatoes. But the real star of the night was the Maronesa steak, which was grilled just how we like it: seasoned only with salt, sealed on the outside and cold and soft on the inside.

The famous Posta à Maronesa!

In addition to the meat, we ordered fries and migas, which were great. There was also a hot sauce for those who liked an extra flavor.

To finish, the house sweet and biscuit cake were the perfect end to a memorable dinner.

Adega 7 Condes proved to be more than a restaurant: it is a place where you can eat very well and feel true Portuguese hospitality. Without a doubt, it is a place to recommend for anyone who wants to taste the best of local food.

Don’t miss it, especially now that Maronesa meat will be highlighted in the next gastronomic weekends in Mondim de Basto, which will take place on the 26th, 27th and 28th of April.
