ARM announces changes to garbage collection on the 25th of April and 1st of May holidays

ARM – Águas e Residuos da Madeira, SA announced today, in a statement, some changes to waste collection services in participating municipalities, namely Câmara de Lobos, Machico, Porto Santo, Ribeira Brava and Santana, as well as reception services of waste, due to the holidays of April 25th and May 1st.

Câmara de Lobos: The collection of plastic and metal packaging waste (yellow recycling bin), usual on Wednesdays (May 1st), will be brought forward to Tuesday (April 30th), starting at 8am.

Ribeira Brava: The collection of unsorted waste (normal rubbish), usual on Thursdays (April 25th), will be carried out on the same day, starting at 8am. The collection of paper/cardboard waste (blue recycling bin), usual on Thursdays ( April 25th), will be brought forward to Wednesday (April 24th), starting at 9am. The collection of unsorted waste (normal rubbish), usual on Wednesday (May 1st), will be carried out on the same day, starting at 8am. The collection of paper/cardboard waste (blue recycling bin), usual on Wednesday (May 1st), will be postponed to Thursday (May 2nd), starting at 9am.

Machico: The collection of plastic and metal packaging waste (yellow recycling bin), usual on Thursday (April 25th), will be brought forward to Wednesday (April 24th), starting at 9am. normal), usual on Wednesday (May 1st), will be postponed to Thursday (May 2nd), starting at 9am.

Santana: The collection of unsorted waste (normal rubbish), usually on Thursday (April 25th), will be brought forward to Wednesday (April 24th), starting at 9am.

Porto Santo: The collection of packaging waste (yellow ecopoint), usual on Thursday (April 25th), will be brought forward to Wednesday (April 24th), starting at 8am. The collection of paper/cardboard waste (ecopoint blue), usual on Thursday (April 25th), will be brought forward to Wednesday (April 24th), starting at 8am.

Regarding the reception of waste, ARM informs that, on the holidays of April 25th and May 1st, the Meia Serra Solid Waste Treatment Station (ETRS) will only receive waste for incineration and green waste, upon prior request.

On the same dates, the Madeira Island East Zone Transfer and Sorting Station (ETZL/ET), the West Zone Transfer Station (ETZO) and the Porto Santo Solid Waste Processing Center (CPRS) will be closed.
