União de Leiria (UDL) will echo the campaign ‘Mistreatment of children and young people: Silence??? No!!!’, promoted by the Leiria Partner Network, and in today’s game, ribbons and blue bookmarks will be distributed to all fans with the history of this symbol, which “intends to alert the community to a problem that, unfortunately, it is still present.”

In a press release, the Lis emblem clarifies that the campaign also extends to the football festival, which starts at 3pm in the Porta 10 fanzone, where it will be possible to visit an exhibition dedicated to blue ties.

Before the start of the UDL game against FC Penafiel, the União de Leiria parade is scheduled with teams from the Football Academy, basketball, futsal, billiards, pool, veterans and e-sports, which also join the campaign.

“At 6 pm, the starting whistle of the match will be given, where the União de Leiria players will also wear the ribbon to raise awareness in the community for this cause, immortalizing the initiative with the photograph of the starting eleven with the ribbons, MiniUni and the mascot of the Leiria Partner Network, the caterpillar”, says the club.

The ball catchers will also wear blue shirts in reference to the campaign and, during halftime, the dance group Attitude Studio will perform to raise awareness against the mistreatment of children and young people.

This is the 14th prevention campaign of the Leiria Partner Network, within the scope of promoting children’s rights and preventing violence throughout life.
