The Municipal Assembly of Salvaterra de Magos met this Thursday, April 25th, to hold the solemn session commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Freedom Day.
The session took place in the Auditorium of the “O Século” School, which received elected officials, guests and the population, to celebrate April and its values.
In the Jardim da Praça da República, in Salvaterra de Magos, there is an exhibition with photographs by Alfredo Cunha and Eduardo Gageiro, who photographed the 25th of April in Lisbon, and also photographs from the Municipal Archive relating to the 1st of May 1974 in the municipality . On the facade of the Municipal Library, screens are displayed that recall themes highlighted in previous years and that emphasize “achievements” of April.
The celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of the 25th of April began in the municipality of Salvaterra de Magos, on the 20th of April and will run until the 1st of May, with various initiatives organized by the City Council, Unions and Parish Councils, IPSS’s, commissions parties, associations and communities.
