Applications are now open for the XIII International Biennial of Young Art in Vila Verde. The deadline for submitting artistic projects is August 7th.
The initiative, whose artistic direction is under the responsibility of Painter Luís Coquenão, is aimed at national and foreign artists, aged up to 35, to be completed by December 31, 2024, whether resident in Portugal or not.
The competition and exhibition will include drawing, sculpture, engraving, painting, mixed media, plastic photography and video.
In this edition, the Grand Prize Bienal Internacional de Arte Jovem will be awarded, worth 3,000 euros.
The second prize and the Revelation Prize (for artistic creators up to 20 years of age) will be worth 1,500 euros each. Honorable Mentions will also be awarded per modality.
The exhibition of selected works runs from November 9th to December 6th this year.
«The International Biennial of Young Art aims, essentially, to publicize and value the work of young artists, promote contact between the population and various types of art, create a cultural space of creative excellence that promotes the meeting between young national and international artists, cultural agents specialists and potential audiences”, says the organization.
