Prolama is betting on the continuity of its PEP – Prolama Electric Power project in 2024, returning to the Portuguese New Energy Championship at the Azores Eco Rallye, after being absent from the first race of the year held in Oeiras, due to overlapping dates with other competitions in the team. With a long history in motor sport, Prolama, upon completing its 30 years of activity, once again supports New Energies, with the natural pride of being able to contribute to the development of this new aspect of motor sport. Always focused on sustainability, the “Prolama Green Team” program continues to have an element in the environment that justifies this initiative, and reinforces the responsibility of the company/team in supporting this new competitive aspect that the Portuguese Automobile and Karting Federation decided on. institute.

With Consilcar, a prominent company in the electric car sales scene, as a partner, the project will begin at the Azores Eco Rallye, with the participation of Carlos Silva and Sancho Ramalho at the helm of a new venture by Consilcar; the BMW i3. With Sancho Ramalho taking over the navigation, Carlos Silva faces yet another enormous challenge, confirming the good performance of last year’s Madeira Rally, as the driver said: “We are back in the Novas Energias championship and the commitment of the Prolama/Consilcar project , remains the same; dignify this competition and develop tools so that the project’s visibility is constant.”

“Sancho Ramalho’s full-time arrival fills us with pride, but carries an enormous responsibility. We know that the competitiveness of the championship is now greater, and we are proud to be part of this process, which is why we want to start this Azores Eco Rallye well. I want to thank Sancho for his willingness to join our Team, knowing that his experience and competitiveness will be very important for the project. I know that my experience in the discipline is still very short, but I am motivated to overcome the difficulties of this process. Finally, a special thank you to Consilcar / Prolama, to the new Sponsors who invested in us, and to everyone who continues to support our presence”, concluded Carlos Silva.

In turn, Sancho Ramalho will debut in competitions in the Azores, and is aware of the difficulties of the roads on the island of S.Miguel, and of a race that this year is part of the FIA international Championship, as he said: “We are going to start our participation in the championship with all the commitment, dedication and great desire to obtain a good result not only in this race, but in the entire championship. From the reports I heard, last year’s rally was very competitive and had difficult sections. It will be my debut in the Azores, but I hope to overcome all the difficulties and be among the first. This will be the ideal way for us to thank the Team and all our Sponsors.”

As mentioned, the Azores Eco Rallye is this year for the first time part of the FIA International Championship for New Energies, and takes place on the roads of S. Miguel Island in iconic and world-renowned locations. The rally ends with a Street Stage on Avenida do Mar in Ponta Delgada, after covering around 403 km of route, divided over the 3 days of competition, of which 267 km will be in selective sectors.
