It all happened on Friday last week, after 8 pm, for reasons that the Judiciary Police (PJ) have not yet determined. In a place frequented every day by hundreds of people who go there to watch the sunset, a Moroccan immigrant got involved in an argument with a Brazilian tourist, which led to an exchange of aggression.

Shortly afterwards, a Gambian citizen went to the aid of the Moroccan immigrant, who has a visa to remain legally in Portugal, but also ended up being attacked. Without realizing that the Gambian wanted to help him, the Moroccan used the knife he kept hidden in his clothing and stabbed the 22-year-old Gambian.

The blow hit the victim in the rib area, forcing him to receive hospital care. But, before firefighters arrived, the stabbed man still reacted to the attack and managed to attack the Moroccan.

Before the authorities arrived, the person responsible for the stabbing left Jardim do Morro, but this Tuesday, he was arrested by the PJ.

The individual was subjected to a first judicial interrogation and, in the end, released, with the obligation to report weekly to the police station in his area of residence.
