Considered one of the largest cybersecurity congresses in Europe, RootedCON will take place for the first time in Portugal, next May. The event will take place at the Fundação Oriente Auditorium in Lisbon, and access tickets are now available on the official RottedCON website.

The congress aims to create a knowledge space for cybersecurity professionals to make public and share the latest news and advances in the area. “It is essential that as cybersecurity professionals we share our discoveries and create places for learning within the community, preparing ourselves together to fight cybercrime”, states the event organizers in a press release.

On the first day of the congress, training activities are planned for those interested in cybersecurity in the areas of Red Team and Hardware Hacking. The first consists of a group of “fictitious intruders” with various skills, who test an organization’s defenses by simulating a cyber attack or other security breach. Hardware Hacking is the manipulation and exploitation of physical devices and software systems.

This year RootedCON hopes to bring together around 350 IT security experts in Portugal. Even so, this congress is smaller than the one held in Madrid, which brings together around 6 thousand professionals.

This conference aims to bring together both cybersecurity professionals in leading companies and representatives of public institutions and State Security Forces, in order to improve the fight against cybercrime. The congress will take place on the 24th and 25th of May in Lisbon, and the final agenda of the event will be announced soon.
