In terms of fuel, in the first quarter, the average price of road diesel stood at 1,369 euros, lower than that recorded in the same period last year (1,441 euros) and in the previous quarter (1,424 euros). For 95 octane gasoline, the average price was 1,584 euros, also lower than that recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year (1,593 euros), and that observed in the fourth quarter of 2023 (1,621 euros).

The introduction into consumption of the main fuels, i.e. diesel and gasoline, rose 2.5%, in the first quarter, to 38.6 million liters, in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, compared to the previous year, according to data from Regional Directorate of Statistics (DREM).

In the first quarter, 26 million liters of diesel were introduced, 0.2% less than in the same period last year, compared to the previous year, in the Region, and 9.9 and 2.7 million liters of 95 and 98 octane gasoline. which represents an increase of 7.1% and 14.8% compared to the previous year.

In the Region, 3.2 and 1.8 thousand tons of propane and butane gas were introduced in the first quarter, compared to the previous year, while the introduction of natural gas in the Region was 4.2 thousand tons, 63 more tons. 8% compared to the previous year.
