UOne person was assisted and another was injured after a leak of sodium hypochlorite and sulfuric acid gases in a warehouse at the Hotel Vila Galé Nep Kids, in Beja, on Sunday afternoon.
It was the Baixo Alentejo Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command that confirmed to the News by the Minute the incident, also stating that the slightly injured person was transported to Beja Hospital.
The hotel is isolated but did not, however, need to be evacuated, he said.
At the moment, the space is being ventilated.
Initially, the same source reported that it was a spill with a mixture of sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid in the warehouse, which was not detected when the Beja Volunteer Firefighters arrived.
The Republican National Guard (GNR) is taking care of the incident.
The alert was given at 4:45 pm.
