The Under-14 Women’s Football District Team finished the Interassociations Tournament in the second
place of the Bronze League.
In the Final Phase of the competition that took place in the district of Coimbra, our team drew the
first game with AF Évora (1-1) and beat AF Horta (5-0) and AF Castelo Branco (3-0). You
Portalegre’s goals were scored by athletes Madalena Cortes (O Elvas CAD), Joana
Raposo (CD Portalegrense), Ana Assenhas (SC Campomaiorense), Marisa Justino, Margarida
Teixeira and Lúcia Paixão (CF Covões).
For the president of the board of directors of the Portalegre Football Association, Daniel Pina, «the aftermath of the competition is very
positive, fills us with pride and demonstrates the work that has been done in our district in
women’s football».
In time for balance sheets, as the Official Women’s Tournaments are concluded,
Daniel Pina takes the opportunity to reveal that «AF Portalegre once again surpassed the number of
registered athletes, something that has been happening since 2017 – with the exception, of course, of the period relating to the
Covid-19″.
The president of the AFP is pleased that “year after year we have more athletes
in women, whether in Football or Futsal», and remembering that AF Portalegre continues to have
a policy of promoting diverse support to affiliated clubs, Daniel Pina leaves «a
