The Benedict team CRP Ribafia won the Portuguese Masters Cycling Cup this weekend, in the team classification.

The Portuguese Masters Cup ended yesterday, with the fourth and final scoring stage included in the GP Grândola – 50 anos 25 de Abril, where CRP Ribafria fielded 11 athletes.

João Letras had already assured victory in the elite category and the team went into the stage with the aim of regaining the jersey from Paulo Simões, in the M45 category, and guaranteeing collective leadership.

“The pace of the stage and the climbs divided the peloton, with the various national teams always very combative and trying to change the various race situations”, reports the club, based in the parish of Benedita, in the municipality of Alcobaça.

In addition to reaching 1st place in the team classification and João Letras winning in the elite category, CRP Ribafria also reached the highest place on the podium with Paulo Simões, in M45.

Athlete Hélder Loureiro reached 2nd place in the M35 category.

“There were four stages played with great intensity and fight between the various national teams, which ended in the best way for the CRP Ribafria team”, says the club in a press release.
