Caminha: “Ranking of the real estate ‘big boom’ is a mere marketing action”, criticizes OCP | Newspaper C

The O Concelho em Primeiro Coalition (OCP), in a note sent to the press today, went public to regret “the paragon made around a ranking that is not based on objective and concrete, realistically proven data.”

According to that coalition, “the president of the chamber Rui Lagesin his eagerness to show work that he neither does nor has done, reading only the title of the news and without studying what was behind the shared ranking as ‘The best place in Europe to invest in real estate is in Portugal’, he published a publication praising it. himself for good work, which in the end is not his responsibility in the municipality.”

In the aforementioned press release, OCP leaves several warnings about this publication.

“This ranking was promoted by the so-called Real Estate Trend Alert, and published in the online edition of International Living, which is dedicated to publishing subjects related to international real estate sales and space rental.

Anyone can be a member of the international platform, just pay the amount they ask.

To consult the supposed specific ranking data you also have to register, and then, if you belong to the platform, you have several ways to pay.

The owner of the company has several videos on YouTube appealing to people to join his company as members, paying to do so.

When investigating the Ranking it turns out that it is a mere form of marketing for the company, without scientific criteria evaluated by professionals from different areas.

In this case, this is just the opinion of ONE member of this company who visited Caminha last year. He will probably visit other municipalities next year and others will be included in the ranking.

They mention in the study that the basis of analysis for some categories are subjective.

For example: The potential for growth/progress is analyzed based on data such as the existence of new roads, airports, bridges or 5-star resorts. Based on these assumptions, there is no need to say anything more regarding the score of 10 given in this item.

Quality of life is measured by: views, dining, shopping, transport and health. Now, the view was nature that graced us, the quality of life in Caminha should not be measured by dinners or purchases made, but rather by the possibility of employment, adjusted salary values, ability to buy a house or even rent it.

The company’s promotional video calls on people to contact Real Estate Trend Alert for business, but misses Caminha’s name and writes Kamina.

The promoter of the ranking, by saying that throughout the “city there are empty buildings”, embarrasses us.

We are not a city, and we regret having so many empty buildings, which ultimately means that the population of the municipality of Caminha does not have the financial capacity to recover their heritage.

He also gives as an example of good investments a supposed “Casa das Indias”, a colonial investment”, but in Caminha the overwhelming majority of people do not know what this house is.

It also says, in the video, that it is an unknown territory and that foreigners do not know it. But it wasn’t Mr. Mayor who spoke about the great success of tourism in our municipality?”

The O Concelho em Primeiro Coalition (OCP) “is always happy with good news about the municipality of Caminha, but refuses to deal with rankings that are not made scientifically but as a mere marketing strategy for the company in question.

What is not understandable is that the President of the Chamber shares, disseminates and disseminates this type of information as being scientific and proven data, when it is a mere real estate interest of a specific company.”

The OCP ends by saying “with us, the people of Caminha will always count on transparency and rigorous information because in politics and in life, not everything counts, nor does the lack of study of rankings and the limitation of reading to the “fat” letters of some news.

As in municipal management, for OCP, content is more important than soundbytes. It is the content that makes a council and its strategic development policies and capturing the true investment that creates quality of life for the people of Caminha, that is, attracting companies from different areas that can create jobs for our population”, concludes.
