Espaço de Lisboa hosts an exhibition in tribute to the writer Aquilino Ribeiro at a time when the 61st anniversary of the death of the renowned author from the district of Viseu approaches

The National Pantheon, in Lisbon, hosts an exhibition in tribute to the writer Aquilino Ribeiro at a time when the 61st anniversary of the death of the renowned author from the district of Viseu approaches.

The exhibition “Aquilino and His Literary Landscapes – A Journey through the Municipalities of Moimenta da Beira, Paredes de Coura, Sernancelhe and Vila Nova de Paiva” is made up of 19 panels and is open to the public at the Coro Alto do Panteão until the end of May .

The exhibition shows the landscapes, heritage, culture and experiences of the municipalities where Aquilino was born (Sernancelhe), where he was baptized (Vila Nova de Paiva) and where he lived (Moimenta da Beira and Paredes de Coura). Aquilino Ribeiro’s remains are currently in the National Pantheon.

The celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the writer’s death, which began in May 2023, will end on May 25th with a ceremony to pay homage to the prefacers of the reissues of Aquilino Ribeiro’s works, the presentation of the reissue of the work “Geografia Sentimental” and a concert by the Ferreirim Regional Music Conservatory, in Sernancelhe.
