Chamber advances with expansion in the Guia Industrial Zone worth 3 million euros

As part of the strategy for revitalizing, promoting and/or expanding industrial parks, the City Council approved the expansion of the Guia Industrial Zone, increasing the capacity to accommodate new investments and the installation of new companies, particularly technology-based.

The subdivision operation, approved at a council meeting, expands that industrial zone through an expansion area to the north, with an area of ​​more than 170 thousand square meters, providing for the creation of 21 plots of land. It also provides for a green area around the lots, creating a green space for protection and framing, as well as protection and combating forest fires.

In addition to promoting the creation of wealth and value, the municipal strategy involves the creation of new productive units, helping to stimulate employment, favoring the attractiveness of the territory and the settlement of the population.

The expansion of the Guia Industrial Zone will seek to respond to the high demand from the industrial and economic sector for that territory, to the west of the municipality, which has an occupancy rate of 100 percent, lacking lots for supply.

In this way, the City Council fulfills yet another commitment made to the people of Pombal, to transform Pombal into a more innovative and attractive municipality for investors and the business sector, as a fundamental condition for creating jobs, attracting talent and retaining people.

For Mayor Pedro Pimpão, this “is one of the Municipality’s biggest investments that reinforces its commitment to economic development, attracting new companies and creating qualified jobs for new generations”.
