Infantry Colonel Paulo Roxo took office at the beginning of this week

The Special Operations Troop Center (CTOE), in Lamego, has a new commander. Infantry colonel Paulo Roxo took up his new role at the beginning of this week.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the “Rangers” barracks, on Monday (April 29).
The session, chaired by the commander of the Army’s Land Forces, lieutenant general Maia Pereira, was attended by the mayor of Lamego, Francisco Lopes, and the commander of the Rapid Reaction Brigade, brigadier general Raul José Felisberto Matias.
Colonel Paulo Roxo succeeded the CTOE’s substitute commander, Lieutenant Colonel Marques da Costa, and entered the Military Academy in 1991, where he attended the Infantry course. The previous effective commander of the CTOE, General Eduardo Ferrão, who had been promoted to the post in March 2023.
The CTOE, which recently celebrated 64 years of activity, has dedicated itself to training and preparing the so-called “rangers”, as special operations soldiers who carry out high-risk missions are known.
