Faro will join the national Kidical Mass event on May 4th, with a demonstration tour starting at 10 am, in Jardim Manuel Bivar and returning to the same location, after a 4.5 km route.
Open to the population, Kidical Mass (Children’s Critical Mass) is a movement that seeks to respond and give visibility to the need and desire of families to use active modes in their daily travel (bicycle, walking, rollerblading, skateboarding, etc.), demanding improving mobility infrastructure, especially close to schools. Kidical Mass’ motto is “Space for the Next Generation”
The international Kidical Mass event takes place during the months of May and September. In Portugal, this movement has already taken place in 2022 and 2023. Between April 27th and May 12th, activities will be carried out across the country in more than 30 locations
This event has, in Faro, the support of the collective Faro a Pedalar, the Agrupamento de Escolas Pinheiro e Rosa (through its projects BikeMe, Desporto Escolar sobre Rodas and Desporto Escolar Comunidades), CÍVIS – Association for the Deepening of Citizenship and University of Algarve (SHEs -Sustainable Horizons – European Universities designing the Horizons of Sustainability)
