The Free Trade Fairs are returning to Fafe between the 15th and 19th of May. This year’s edition keeps Parque da Cidade as the center of the celebrations and offers a full five-day program, which highlights the presence of singers Quim Barreiros, Ana Malhoa and Dino d’Santiago, the municipality announced today.

The poster also features challenging songs, a folklore festival, fado, street entertainment, scenes from rural life, a livestock competition, ox rivalry and horse racing.

The Municipality of Fafe designed a “popular and festive” program, which “privileges rurality and local traditions, but which does not forget the younger people to whom many moments of nightlife are dedicated with the presence of popular artists (DJs).

The Free Trade Fairs start on Wednesday, the day before the holiday, the 15th, with the inauguration of the Rural Expo, at 6:00 pm, followed by moments of entertainment by CERCIFAF Bombos, Rusga de Concertinas, Cantares ao Desafio with Liliana Oliveira. The day ends with the performance of singer Ana Malhoa on the main stage at Parque da Cidade, at 10:00 pm, followed by performances by DJs Ricardo Mendez and Dj John Dyas.

On the municipal holiday, May 16th, the program starts with the Cavalar Cattle Fair in Parque da Cidade, starting at 9:00 am. The Bombos will liven up the city during the morning and in the early afternoon, the traditional and much-loved Folklore Festival takes place. Chega de Bois, which will take place in Parque da Cidade, is scheduled for 4:30 pm.

At the end of the afternoon, a musical program begins with a performance by the Ribeiro group and the Concertinas and moments dedicated to Fado.

Quim Barreiros, an artist from the municipality of Caminha, performs on the Main Stage at 9:30 pm. The day ends with the launch of fireworks, at the Clock Tower, at 11:00 pm.

On Friday (17), the program includes the Livestock Competition, the traditional Horse Race at a pace and the Folklore Festival. Throughout the day, children from schools in the municipality will have the opportunity to visit the Rural Expo, involving schools in celebrating the Fairs. For young audiences, and “not only”, DJ Kyd3n and Dubio dj set are scheduled to perform from midnight onwards.

The weekend brings more entertainment to Fafe, with emphasis on the Dino d’Santiago show on Saturday night. The day will be dedicated, above all, to music with performances by Bombos, ARPIFAFE, AAPAEIF, Tuna Masculina IEES, Tuna Feminina IEES, Memórias Vivas, Liliana Oliveira com Banda, DJ Cozta and Dupla Mete Cá Sets.

The last day of the Free Trade Fairs is, as usual, marked by the performances of the Revelhe Philharmonic Band and the Golães Philharmonic Band, in the Arcada.

The Rural Expo and Praça dos Petiscos are part of the program over the five days, offering “moments of leisure and conviviality for visitors”.

The organization of the event is the responsibility of the Municipality of Fafe, which has the support of several entities, namely the Cooperative of Agricultural Producers of Fafe (CoFafe), which is responsible for organizing the entire program related to agricultural activity, exhibition and rural activity present in the initiative.
