Premieres this Friday, May 3rd, at 9:30 pm, on the stage of Teatro Aveirense, the new creation with artistic direction by Clara Andermatt. MUDA was born from an invitation from INAC – National Institute of Circus Arts, Andermatt, to create a show that crosses different methodologies and languages in the areas of Contemporary Circus and Dance, starting from the acrobatic body and its techniques.

MUDA is a reflection on the multifaceted nature of the human condition, and explores performative work in correlation with the aesthetics of silent cinema. Humor intertwines with tragedy, fantasy with reality, and violence with love. The mute extension of things reveals a complex world that challenges us, like balancing act on a knife’s edge, to transcend the paradoxes of humanity and find the point of convergence that leads us to the discovery of beauty.

By involving performers from various geographic origins and artistic affiliations, the project celebrates the diversity of knowledge, cultures and circus practices, enriching the experience, sensitivity and knowledge of everyone involved.

After the premiere in Aveiro, MUDA will then go to Casa das Artes in Famalicão on the 17th and 18th of May. Later this month MUDA will be presented at the Imaginarius Festival in Santa Maria da Feira, on the 23rd, 24th and 25th.

The show will take place in several locations throughout the year and until 2025.
