Although André Afonso, 12, accompanied his parents for the first time at the Orange Fair, this is the second time that the Seixas family has participated in the event. The young man told VTM that he picked up the oranges with his parents and that he was “really enjoying” the event.
Mário Vaz explained the importance of the fair to promote agriculture, because “the whole country needs farmers.” “Who puts food on the table?” he asked, defending the need for “strong support” for the sector from the Government.
The Orange Fair also gives opportunities to other sellers. Tomás Teixeira, 15 years old, lives in Ovar, but returned to his father’s land to show some of the work he does in 3D. On his bench, he has dozens of pieces, such as a chessboard, whose pieces are Pokémon. The love for work, said Tomás, was born the previous year, in the ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) discipline. After “awakening a little bug”, Tomás then bought his first 3D printer, and now has two.
Another exhibitor, Susana Pinto, who had her stall right at the beginning of the fair, was selling Tupperware products and for the first time that she was present at the event, she found the fair “interesting” and in addition to wanting to “sell a lot”, she hoped that people have fun and “manage to achieve their goals”.[/block]
