On April 30th, Escola Básica EB1 de Vilela, in Coimbra, opened the doors of its new “Casinha da Leitura” in a ceremony marked by the presence of the Education councilor, Ana Maria Cortez Vaz.

This space dedicated to reading, designed to stimulate a love of books from a young age, was opened with enthusiasm and joy by the educational community. The event was attended by teachers, students, parents and other members of the community, who came together to celebrate this achievement in favor of education.

During the ceremony, Ana Maria Cortez Vaz spoke of encouragement and recognition for the work carried out by the school, highlighting the importance of initiatives like this for the integral development of children.

“Casinha da Leitura” is the result of the hard and dedicated work of the entire teaching staff, as well as the Parents Committee of EB1 Vilela, who spared no effort to make this project a reality. This new area promises to be a space of discovery, imagination and learning for students, where each book is a door to a new world.
