ASAE identifies 14 minors for consuming alcoholic beverages

The Food and Economic Security Authority, within the scope of its powers and through the Southern Regional Unit – Évora Operational Unit, carried out an inspection action, aimed at verifying compliance with legal measures restricting the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors, at the Ovibeja venue, which took place between April 30th and May 5th, in Beja.

During the course of the action, 14 minor individuals, 7 of which are under 16 years of agein the act of consuming alcoholic beverages, namely beer and spirits, having identified them as well as all the participants who sold or made the aforementioned alcoholic beverages available to minors.

As a result, they were still six administrative offense proceedings were initiated for making alcoholic beverages available or selling to minors, who will follow legal procedures.

This action took place with the support of the Public Security Police (PSP) of Beja.

ASAE will continue to develop inspection actions, within the scope of its powers, throughout the national territory, in favor of healthy and fair competition between economic operators, in safeguarding food safety and public health, particularly with regard to combating consumption and sale of alcoholic beverages to minors.
